Statement on Resignation of Representative Hill

Stonewall is sad that the important work Rep. Hill has done on behalf of her district and the LGBTQ+ community has fallen prey to the machinations of someone who abused her trust by using the tabloid press to discredit her.

Women are vilified for things men are given a pass on, and that’s unfair. Rep. Hill has nonetheless acted for the good of her constituents, demonstrating the selflessness and integrity we have come to expect.

Not all the facts are out and we wish her well. Stonewall will work hard to make sure that the next Congressmember from CA-25 is a strong Democrat.
