Message from our president on New Years day

Dear Members, Allies, and Friends of the Stonewall Democratic Club,

As the dawn of 2024 breaks, we find ourselves at a pivotal juncture – a new year filled with potential, yet laden with the remnants of our past. This moment invites us to introspect and decide what must be shed to embrace a rejuvenated beginning. Today, we stand on the precipice of change, looking forward to shaping a year that's about 'We' instead of 'Me', as beautifully articulated by President John F. Kennedy: "A journey of a thousand miles starts with the first step."

Before we embark on this journey, it is essential to dream, to envision, and to plan. Join us at Stonewall as we envision a world where each person is empowered to live their authentic life with grace and dignity, unshackled from threats and harassment, and free to experience joy in all its forms.

Our collective endeavor at Stonewall Democratic Club is not just about unity; it's about responsibility and contribution. There's a price for progress, but it's within everyone's reach. Membership in our club is more than a badge; it's a commitment to our mission of bettering the lives of our community and our allies.

How can you play a part in this mission?

Phone Banking: For those with time to spare, join us in reaching out to fellow Democrats. Your voice can inspire belief in a brighter future focused on 'We', not 'Me'.

Postcarding for Creatives: If you're artistically inclined, engage with us in postcarding. It's a creative and impactful way to support our community and endorse our candidates.

Outdoor Engagement: For our members who relish the outdoors, we're taking our message to the streets. Through canvassing and door-knocking, we'll connect with other Democrats, emphasizing the crucial role their vote plays in our community's and country's future.

Donations: If time is scarce, but you can contribute resources, consider a monthly donation. Even small amounts are significant in keeping our club thriving and our work ongoing.

As you ponder over your New Year resolutions, consider committing to a cause that stands for our community. Resolve to be a part of Stonewall, to stand up for what we believe in. Your seat is waiting, and I am eager to welcome you. Let's make 2024 a year of celebration, progress, and unity.

I can't wait to embark on this journey with you.

Yours in solidarity and hope,

Renay Grace Rodriguez
