Both the actors and writers strike continue on with some of the teams still refusing to even consider the fair deals provided despite the hundreds of thousands of jobs at stake.
While petition starter Farah continues to push for extended EDD benefits to help support these artists and effected workers fighting for their livelihood, big corperations like Netflix have gone as far as scouting out an AI project manager to replace those on strike for a whopping $900K a year. This announcement is believed to be in spite of the requested 2% of revenue only to receive checks that are worth less than the paper they were printed on.
Industry publications like Deadline have been highlighting some positive contributions; like A-list actors who have been donating to support striking workers, and very recently folks like petition starter Farrah who have been mobilizing supporters.

Crew members, vendors, and other affiliated workers in the entertainment industry have been forced out of work for over two months with no end in sight. With SAG now on strike we are facing financial ruin with no opportunity to work. The EDD benefits max amount of $450 a week are not even close to paying something a person can live off of, when an average one bedroom apartment rents for $2800 a month in Los Angeles. In NYC it’s even more. With interest rates the highest they have been in over 20 years, credit cards and loans aren’t options. We need our benefits increased during this crisis like they were in during the Covid 19 pandemic. This is an economic emergency. It’s time for government intervention.
