Breaking News: Statement from President Renay Grace Rodriguez
Stonewall Democratic Club
Today, our hearts are with the LGBTQ+ community in Berlin following the horrific attack during Christopher Street Day Pride celebrations. What should have been a day of love, visibility, and celebration became a scene of unimaginable tragedy. We mourn the life that was taken, pray for those who were injured, and stand in unwavering solidarity with our siblings in Germany and around the world.
Pride has never been just a celebration—it has always been an act of courage. From the Stonewall Uprising to today's marches across the globe, our community has continued to stand together in the face of hate, violence, and those who seek to erase us. We will not be intimidated. We will not be silenced. And we will never stop fighting for equality, dignity, and justice.
Here in the United States, we face our own defining moment. As attacks on LGBTQ+ rights, civil liberties, and democratic institutions continue, we are reminded that our freedoms cannot be taken for granted. They must be protected by every generation.
One hundred days from today, Americans will have the opportunity to make their voices heard in the midterm elections. Voting is one of the most powerful tools we have to defend democracy, reject politics rooted in division and fear, and choose leaders who will protect the rights and freedoms of every person.
The Stonewall Democratic Club encourages every eligible voter to register, make a plan to vote, and help others do the same. Elections matter. Our voices matter. Our community matters.
Today we honor those affected in Berlin by recommitting ourselves to the values that have always defined our movement: love over hate, hope over fear, and democracy over division.
In solidarity,
President Renay Grace Rodriguez
