🚨 URGENT COMMUNITY WARNING 🚨
ALT-RIGHT AGITATORS COMING TO WEST HOLLYWOOD
Sunday, April 27 — 1:00 PM at Robertson & Santa Monica
Marching East on Santa Monica Blvd to Beverly Gardens Park, Beverly Hills
The #WalkAway Campaign, led by January 6 rioter Brandon Straka, along with Matt Gaetz and other far-right figures, is invading our community.
👉 Their goal:
-
Provoke physical confrontations
-
Bait peaceful citizens into arguments
-
Film fake "victim" videos for right-wing propaganda
BE AWARE:
-
They may attempt to trip you and, if you fall, they may try to stab you and claim "self-defense."
-
They are looking for any excuse to create violence and blame us.
HOW TO PROTECT OUR COMMUNITY:
✅ Do NOT engage.
✅ Do NOT speak to them.
✅ Stand clear.
✅ Turn your back.
✅ Give them NO sound bites, NO reactions, NO footage.
THEIR CAMERAS WILL BE ROLLING — DON’T GIVE THEM ANYTHING TO USE.
West Hollywood is a city of pride, peace, and strength —
NOT a backdrop for their lies.
Stay calm. Stay proud. Stay smart.

Dear Stonewall Family and Community Members,
I am writing to you today with important information regarding the planned #WalkAway march taking place this Sunday, April 27th, beginning at 1:00 p.m. in West Hollywood and proceeding east along Santa Monica Boulevard toward Beverly Gardens Park in Beverly Hills.
Out of deep concern for the safety and dignity of our community, I personally reached out to Los Angeles County Sheriff Robert Luna to voice the serious concerns many of us share — particularly about the possibility of sympathetic officers being assigned to protect the alt-right organizers. Sheriff Luna understood our concerns and assured me that he would personally make calls to set up extra safety precautions specifically for our community.
Following that conversation, I was contacted by Deputy Skeela, who oversees Extra Services for the County. He is actively reaching out to the relevant Sheriff's substations and has placed them on alert. We also expect to be in direct contact with Deputy Fanny Lampkin, who will have boots on the ground on Sunday to help oversee safety operations.
Let me be very clear:
-
The Sheriff's Department is not there to escort the marchers.
-
They are there to act as a wall between our community and these agitators, who are coming here looking for confrontation and violence.
I want to share something personal:
At Saticoy Elementary School, I had a firsthand encounter with these tactics. An agitator ripped the flag out of my hands, pulled violently on the pole, and then I was falsely portrayed in international media as "a lesbian beating a parent who was trying to protect her child from pedophiles."
I know exactly what they are trying to do.
That is why I am urging everyone:
Please, do not engage with them.
Turn your backs.
Do not boo. Do not shout. Do not respond.
They are desperate for sound bites, videos, and photos that they can use to twist our image and harm our cause. Don't give them what they want.
We are working closely with Sheriff Luna, and he has committed to doing everything within his power to keep us safe.
Now we must do our part, too — by staying peaceful, proud, and unified.
Together, we will show the world that West Hollywood and Stonewall stand for love, strength, and dignity — not hate.
In solidarity and pride,
Renay Grace Rodriguez
